The Great Differences Between Germany and Other Countries

Germans are always proud of their country, which is more than 2,000 years old. Although it has been a "sinner" of humanity at times, this place has contributed to creating the world today. Besides the memories of war, there are many things to say about this country. Below is an article about 11 things that make Germany special.

German Beer

With over 1,300 breweries and over 5,000 different brands of beer, Germans drink the most beer in Europe. Since 1516, Germany has had a law that only water, hops, and barley can be used to make beer. As a result, Germany has a lot of new craft breweries.

Moving story

It is a place where many big car manufacturers such as Audi, BMW or Mercedes gather. However, while many countries in the world are jealous, people here still take the train. Every day, Germany's railways are about 33,000 km long, carrying nearly 7 million passengers and carrying more than 1 million tons of goods. The high-speed ICE trains here connect towns and cities with each other, running at 300 km/h.

Life on the river

Germans are not only “crazy” about beer, they are “crazy” about water. People here can go boating, windsurfing, surfing or swimming regardless of the weather. There are more than 12,200 lakes, which have been able to carry out these activities throughout the years. Some of the lakes are so large and beautiful that you can see them in more detail from the mountains. In addition, there is a walking path that connects 66 lakes in Brandenburg.

Bread

Bread is not just a daily meal, but it is also a part of the culture of each nation. Each region or country has its own way of making it. In Germany, there are more than 1,500 types, black bread comes from the North and white bread comes from the South. On average, each person here eats about 87kg of bread in a year. This is also the reason why Germans have quite round bellies.

Law

It is no surprise that laws govern activities in Germany. It seems that too many laws make people rigid, but no, it helps people here work effectively. If you are caught by the police, you will be fined. Garbage here must be clearly classified. If you mix garbage, you will also be fined. It is because of the strict laws that help Germany become a country with the lowest unemployment rate in Europe.

Bring everything

People here always bring everything with them when moving house, from refrigerators or heaters, sinks, tables and chairs... Moving day in Germany is like a festival. The whole family and friends rush in to help. There are no professional services to do these jobs. However, Germans are always clean and careful.

The castles

From medieval hilltop fortresses to Renaissance castles to 19th-century castles, there are now around 25,000 castles in Germany, most of which have been turned into museums, hotels and even restaurants.

Walk on the weekend

Despite its vast river and lake system, Germany still has about 200,000 km of walking paths, with all kinds of paths such as mountains, forests, rivers, and seas, allowing you to freely experience everything from "walking" to "adventure tourism".

Festival

Germany also has many regional festivals that are celebrated differently. The northwest holds a parade of 2 million visitors who come to participate in the carnival that takes place on the pedestrian streets of Cologne and Dusseldorf. In the south of Germany, people wear traditional masks or can dress up as devils or wild animals.

The jokes

Germans always invest in making the most impressive jokes. If people here have interesting jokes, you know they put a lot of effort and time into it, that's why those jokes leave a lot of impression on everyone who visits here.

Above are the highlights of Germany compared to other countries. If you have the opportunity, you and your relatives should visit and experience interesting things that other countries do not have.
